Team of the Season
*We’ve finally completed the process of compiling the “Team of the Season” for the various leagues across the Limerick District League.
*The response was tremendous, with nominations and feedback coming in from clubs and the wider soccer community.
*What began as a bit of fun has now grown in stature and is taken much more seriously by everyone involved.
*That said, one thing hasn’t changed — mistakes will be made, and deserving players may be unintentionally overlooked.
*As the saying goes: “If you feel you should have been selected, you’re probably right.”
*Selections were made primarily based on the number of nominations, but in some cases, a player’s impact in key games gave them the edge.
*For the Youth and U17 categories, we tried to keep players within their grade, though some crossover occurred where necessary.
In a few instances, there were ties for the final spot, so both players were included.
The Premier League garnered significant interest.
Fairview Rangers, given their strong season, dominated the selections, however, a few standout players from outside the title race also earned their place through sheer performance.
