Munster Junior Cup

Geraldines B 3 Hill Celtic 5
Geraldines interest in the Provincial tournament ended on Sunday afternoon when their B team followed their A team out of the competition. Evan Bourke (2) and David Crowe scored for the candy stripes but goals from David Sheehan (2), Dylan Robinson, Dean Mitchell and Kamil Krayczch gave Hill Celtic the spoils.

Aisling Annacotty B 3 Granville Rgs 2
Div 1B side Aisling B raised a few eyebrows when beating Div 1A side Granville.
Evan Quinlivan, Barry Madden and Damien Collins had the home side three up at the break. A double from Dale McNamara brought Granville back into the tie but they fell just short.

Cappamore 3 Coonagh Utd 4
Coonagh also progressed at the expense of a side plying their trade t a higher level.
Coonagh led all the way through and goals from Ger Myles, Gordon McKevitt, Eoin Martin and Javier Gonzalez Fernandez secured the win. Eric Conroy, Shane Ryan and Peter Laffan replied for home side Cappamore.

Holycross 6 Glenview 1
Holycross’ eight successive win saw them ease past Glenview to set upa third round tie with Hill Celtic for a place in the open stages of the competition. Pappy Kelly (2), Tony Burke (2), Thomas Keane and Jonathan Cosgrove were on the mark for the winners with Sean Keane replying for Rovers.

In Division 1A Kilmallock hit Ballynanty Rvs B with a nine goal blitz.
Barry Sheedy scored three, Tommy Heffernan (2), Paul Doona, Niall Burchill and an own goal, made up the tally.
Goals from Christy Moran and Craig Reddan (2) gave Fairview Rgs B the points in a 3-1 win over Caherdavin Celtic; Dylan Cronin replied.
Murroe and Knockainey shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Ger Fitzgerald and Liam Quinn scored for the home side; James Hayes and Jonathon Cosgrove replied for Knockainey.
An injury time goal from Dean Hogan gave Southend the points against Corbally and put them joint top of the table in Division 1B.
Division 3B Leaders Nenagh B opened up a ten point lead on the chasing pack when they came from two down to take the points. Kieran Casey and Kieran McCarthy had Newport in control until Danny Butler let loose for their Tipperary neighbours scoring four goals. Craig Hilmi completed the comeback.
A Keith Meagher double helped Northside to a 2-1 win over Janesboro B for whom Gary Kelly scored while goals from Glen Bussoli (2), Jamie Johnson (2) and Richie Flynn gave Star Rvs a 5-3 win over Ballylanders. Paul Lonergan, Dylan Noonan and Dan Hennessy replied.
In Division 3A Prospect Priory beat leaders Pallagreen 2-0 in Cals Park with scores from Danny Colbert and Mike Lynch.
Goals from James O’Doherty, James McGrath, Anthony Palmer, Kevin Palmer and Richie McCarthy helped Kilfinane to a 5-2 win over Knockainey for who Shane Mulcahy hit a double.
Croom Utd B beat Hyde Rgs B 4-3 courtesy of Barry Roche, Gary McInerney, Aaron Cregan and Kevin Kinsella while in Division Four goals from Conor Croke (2) and Pat Hall gave Caherdavin a 3-1 win at Newport



Sept 26th

Munster Junior Cup

Dromore Celtic 4 Summerville Rvs B 2
Division 3B side Dromore Celtic caused an upset beating Div 2A side Summerville and are “rewarded” with a second round tie against a rampant Nenagh AFC.
A goal from Ger Hayes and a hat trick from Felipe Pacheco Rodriguez sealed the victory.

In Division 1B St Pats moved to within two points of second spot following a 5-2 win over Hospital. Paul O’Brien scored four with Tom O’Neill making up the tally. Mike Ryan and Sean Hanley replied for Hospital.

Aisling scored a good win over Hill Celtic with scores from Conor Hackett, Jack Cleary and Conor McCarthy while Regional also scored three, courtesy of Shane O’Donoghue, Gerry Fitzpatrick and Danny Galvin in a win over Corbally.

Trevor Hogan and Ger Burke were on the mark for Geraldines but Cappamore took the points in a 3-2 thanks to scores from Eric Conroy (2) and Brian Fenton.

The top two in Division 2A increased their lead with wins on Sunday.

Ian Whelan (2), Ollie Kenny and Dylan Bourke scored for Granville Rgs B in a 4-2 win over Kennedy Park for whom Stephen McNamara and Wayne Meagher replied.


Athlunkard Villa  put five past Charleville through Bartek Baranski (3), Donal O’Keeffe and Dave Quinn; Tibor Sandor replied.

Hyde got back to winning ways with a 6-0 win over Lisnagry. Goals from Stephen Benn (3),  Lee Costello, James Deedigan and Danny Harris sealed the points.

Nenagh AFC B increased their lead in Division 2B with a 7-2 win at Janesboro. Anthony Hannan scored twice for the home side but goals from Francis Munsterburg (2), Arthur Mitchell (2), Danny Butler, John Butler and Jughar Singh decided the tie.

Padraig Reilly and John McManus scored in Mungret Regional’s win over Ballylanders while goals from Kieran Larkin (3), Conor Laffan (3), Gary McInerney (2), Peter Cregan and Ryan O’Shea gave Croom a big win over Abbey.

Thomas Carroll scored for Newport but goals from Sean Dooley and Sean Keane gave Glenview Rvs the spoils and Star Rvs beat Aisling Annacotty C 2-0 courtesy of Robert Waters and Richie Flynn.


In Division 3A Leaders Pallagreen beat Murroe B   4-1 with scores from Kevin Barry (2), Eddie Mulcahy and an own goal; Mike McNamara replied.

A double from John Switzer saw Castle Utd to a 2-0 win over Knockainey B.

Kilfinane beat Coonagh Utd B 7-2 with scores from Niall O’Riordan (2), Kevin Palmer, Paudie Leahy, Ian O’Brien, Edwin Carroll and Anthony Palmer; Ian Quinn and Brian Murray replied for Coonagh while Ciaran Martin, Christian Aguado and Conor Fleming were on target for Aisling Annacotty in a 3-3 draw with Meanus


Athlunkard strengthened their lead at the top of Division 3B with a 4-0 win over St Pats. Christian Kerley, Richie Fox, James Ring and Paul O’Riordan scored.

David Reidy, Brian O’Sullivan and Willie Pinto scored for Bruff in a 3-0 win over Nenagh while Shelbourne B edged out Mungret Reg C 5-4. Niall Danagher (2), Dara Finucane, Paddy Tierney and Shane O’Halloran scored for the winners; Dan Meade, Dara Hickey, Mark Dillon and Sean Kiely replied.

Northside Legacy 0 Regional United B 3
A double from Shane O’Donoghue and a goal from Chris Hansom secured Regional Utd’s B string’s passage to round two

Pallas United 1 Geraldines B 3
Darren Roche scored for Pallas but goals from Paul Campbell (2) and Karl Turner sets up a second round tie versus Hill Celtic.

Hill Celtic 3 Athlunkard Villa B 1
Hill Celtic will host Geraldines B in round two following their 3-1 win over Athlunkard Villa.
Goals from Paul Goodman, Gary Kelly and Ian Stewart secured the victory. Brian O’Riordan replied for Villa.

Glenview Rvs 2 Star Rovers 1
Goals from Sean Keane and Sean Dooley gave Glenview passage to a second round clash with Holycross.

Holycross 6 Abbey Rovers 1
High flying Holycross hit Abbey for six at the county venue. Ryan Glynn claimed a hat trick while a double from Niall O’Riordan and one from Chris Ward completed the rout.

Aisling Annacotty B 7 Bruff Utd 2
Aisling B joined their A team in the second round with an easy 7-2 win over Bruff Utd.
Evan Quinlivan scored a rare hat trick while Conor McCarthy (2), Barry Madden and Stephen Byrne made up the tally.

Hospital 2 Coonagh Utd 4
A hat trick from Eoin Martin paved the way for Coonagh to see off Hospital, Gordon McKevitt also netted for the winners.

Sept 13th
The top of the table clash in Division 1B saw Southend welcome Holycross to Southill and after a fine tussle the county lads won out.
Barry Gibbons with his 13th of the season fired Southend in front but a fine comeback saw Holycross snatch the points with scores from Pappy Kelly and Tony Burke.

Geraldines B put six past Regional Utd B courtesy of Paul Campbell (2), Trevor Hogan (2), David Crowe and Ian Dore while Hill Celtic and St Pats ended 2-2 Lee Reddan and Kamil Krayczch scored for Celtic.
Goals from Kevin Meade, Pat Hehir and an own goal saw Hospital past Corbally Utd B while Prospect Priory edged past Aisling thanks to a Keith O’Connell goal.
In Division 2A Kennedy Park beat Caledonians 2-1 with scores from Stephen McNamara and Thomas McInerney.
Darren Hanley nabbed a hat trick as Castle Rvs beat high flying Athlunkard Villa while Charleville also scored three through Tibor Sandor, Peter Sandor and Sean McCormack in a 3-1 win over Hyde Rgs. Pat O’Connor replied.
Ger Myles and Graham Minogue scored for Coonagh but goals from Jonathan Meagher, Paul O’Mahoney and Clifton Carey gave Granville Rgs a home win.
Jack O’Donovan scored the only goal as Shelbourne beat Summerville Rvs B.
In Division 2B Abbey Rvs win the bragging rights following a 5-2 win over Star Rvs. Thomas Butler (2), Sean Lyons (2) and Rob Moran scored for the winners.
Moyross won at Aisling Annacotty C courtesy of Pat Roche and Aaron Power and Nenagh B put seven past Northside through Danny Butler (3), Michael Duff (3) and Tommy Martin.
Newport beat Mungret Reg 4-2; Kieran Casey (2) and Sean O’Brien (2) scored for the winners; David Lowe and John McManus replied for Mungret.
FAI Junior Cup
Athlunkard Villa also ran in a big score courtesy of Jamie Kerley (2), Luke Hayes (2), Seamus McCarthy, Christian Kerley, Andrew Kerley, Alan Colbert, Peter Reilly and Bartek Baranski. William Birrane replied for a gallant Parkville side.
Andrew Meehan, Pat O’Connor, Garret Higgins and Lee Somers scored for Hyde Rgs but Croom Utd went one better through Conor Laffan (2), Gary McInereny (2) and Kieran Larkin to progress.
Southend moved into round three following a 5-3 win over Meanus. Darragh Sheehan (2), Aaron Grant (2) and James Lyons scored. Prospect Priory also scored five through Dean Glasheen (3) and Yakuba Yabre (2) to see off Pallasgreen.
Holycross hit Abbey Rvs for six through Tony Burke (3), Sean O’Riordan, Niall O’Riordan and Dean Coughlan while Lisnagry went down at home to Hill Celtic and scores from Gary Kelly (2) and Lee Reddan. Sam Egan scored for Shelbourne but they fell 2-1 to Cappamore.


Sept 6th

In Division 1B joint leaders Southend went down at home to St Pats. Barry Gibbons scored for the homesters but Paul O’Brien and Kieran Kilcoyne netted for Saints to seal the win.
Goals from Thomas Mulqueen (3), Yakuba Yabre (2), Declan McCormack (2) and Robert O’Grady eased Prospect Priory past Cappamore while Corbally Utd B hit seven courtesy of Sean Markham (3), Dave McPhillips (2), Conor Barry and Glen Mitchell to beat Aisling B.
John Mitchell and Dean Mitchell were on target for Hill Celtic but Regional Utd B scored five through Danny Galvin (3), Rory Casserly and Dylan Frawley to win.
Hospital and Geraldines B shared eight goals evenly. Kevin Meade (2), Sean Hanley and Chris Dineen scored for the home side with Paul Campbell (3) and David Crowe scoring for Dines.

Athlunkard Villa went top of the table in Division 2A when they beat Hyde Rgs 2-1 at Athlunkard. Bartek Baranski and Richie Fox scored for the home side with Ger Nash replying for Hyde.
Granville Rgs B kept pace with the leaders following a 4-1 win over Lisnagry. Alan Sheehan grabbed a hat trick and Jonathan Meagher also chipped in.
Castle Rvs beat Shannon Hibs with goals from Brian Muldoon and Ryan Keane while high scoring Kennedy Park hit Summerville Rvs B for seven courtesy of Stephen McNamara (3), Thomas McInerney (3) and Ben Hickey.
A late Martek Halasz goal gave Charleville a point against Shelbourne for whom Sam Egan obliged.

In Division 2B Moyross recorded a good win in Ballylanders. Alan Quinlivan (2), Pat Roche (2) and Dan McInerney scored for the winners.
Nenagh B beat Abbey Rvs 5-2 with scores from Danny Butler (2), Tommy Martin, Craig Hilmi and Francis Munsterburg.
Old rivals Croom Utd and Star Rvs met at the county venue and the home side triumphed 3-1. Aidan Morrissey, Eoin Burchill and Conor Laffan scored for the homesters; Richie Flynn replied.
Goals from Sean Dooley (2) and Pat Carroll helped Glenview Rvs past Aisling Annacotty for whom Brendan Kileen was on the mark.
Jamie Hogan, Chris Quinn and Dean Slattery scored for Janesboro but they went down 4-3 to Mungret Regional.
Newport put seven past Northside through Dan O’Sullivan (2), Aidan O’Brien (2), Kieran McCarthy (2) and Kieran Casey.

In Division 3A Christian Aguado netted a hat trick for Aisling D but they went down to Pallagreen and scores from Kevin Barry (4), Tim Hennessy and Darren Roche

Division 3B Leaders Athlunkard Villa B scored a dramatic 5-4 win over St Pauls. Tied at 4-4 in the dying second, Tommy Sheehan (who, prior to signing for Villa, had never scored in 15 years of football) scored his third of the season to secure full points.
Christian Kerley (2), James Ring and Richard Fox also scored for the winners while Graham Canty and Mark Barry with a brace apiece replied.
Dave Hoey (2), Stephen Benn (2), James Featherstone, Michael Bromell and Shane Ahern scored for Hyde in an amazing 7-7 draw with St Pats while Holycross B beat Parkville 3-1 thanks to scores from Darragh Glynn, James Meaney and James O’Regan; John Ryan replied.

Division Four League leaders Hill Celtic B put three past Bruff Utd without reply. Damien Carmello (2) and James Harty obliged. Denis Glitenane scored the only goal of the game in Moyross as Mungret Regional took the points.

In Division 1B Southend got back to winning ways beating Aisling 3-2. Barry Gibbons with a hat trick was the Southend hero with Graham Power hitting a double for Aisling.
Goals from Dean Casey, Paul Goodman and Damien Carmello saw Hill Celtic past Cappamore while leaders Holycross edged out Corbally Utd B 2-1. Dean Coughlan and Niall O’Riordan scored for the winners; Alan O’Doherty replied.
Goals from Yakuba Yabre and Kieran O’Connell helped Prospect to beat high flying St Pats.

Division 2A Leaders Athlunkard Villa gave a frightening display of power as they beat Caledonians 8-0. Ray Kerley (3), Vinny Voyer (2), Ian Collins, Luke Hayes and Dave Quinn all netted for the winners.
Ger Myles was on the mark for Coonagh Utd but they went down 3-1 to Kennedy Park and goals from Thomas McInerney, Stephen McNamara and Noel Whyte.
Jack O’Donovan (2), Ger Frawley and Dean Herlihy for Shelbourne in victory over Lisnagry while a Sean McCormack goals gave Charleville a win at Shannon Hibs.
Dave Lynch scored a hat trick for Summerville Rvs B but they fell narrowly to Granville Rgs B with scores from Clifton Carey (2), Sean Buckley and Mark Tuite.

Sean O’Brien and Kieran Casey scored the goals that saw Newport past Janesboro B while Moyross B put eight past Abbey Rvs through Alan Quinlivan (2), Dan McInerney (2), Pat Roche, Aaron Power, Andrew Duggan and an own goal.
An Aidan Morrissey double gave Croom a 2-1 win at Mungret Reg; Padraig Reilly netted for the home side.
An Eoin O’Riordan double gave Glenview the spoils at Northside and goals from
Arthur Mitchell, Enrico Casey, Trevor Morrissey, Michael Duff, Danny Butler, Alan Sheahan and Tommy Martin gave Nenagh an easy win over Aisling.

In Div 3A Christian Aguado and Conor Hanrahan netted as Aisling Annacotty beat Castle Utd. Aidan Ryan replied for the visitors.

August 30th

In Division 1B Holycross ran riot against St Pats chalking up scores from Ryan Glynn (3), Simon Delaney (2), Tony Burke (2), Shane Kilcoyne and Dean Coughlan; Tom O’Neill and Paul O’Brien replied for Saints.
Dean Mitchell (2), Dylan Robinson, Paul Goodman and Gary Kelly netted in Hill Celtic’s win over Hospital while Southend accounted for Regional Utd B with scores from James Lyons and Darragh Sheehan.
Caledonians lead the way in Div 2A following their 5-1 win over Summerville Rvs B courtesy of Cian Kileen (2), Jason O’Callaghan, Cian O’Donoghue and an own goal.
Gordon McKevitt (2), Killian Collins (2), Ger Myles (2), Luke Doherty and Shane Fitzgerald scored for Coonagh in a big win over Lisnagry while Athlunkard Villa and Shelbourne shared the spoils; Donal O’Doherty and Niall Earls were the scorers.
Darren Hanley and Brian Muldoon scored for Castle Rvs but goals from Stephen Folan (2) and Sean Buckley gave Granville Rgs B the spoils.
Hyde Rgs fought back well to take the spoils against Shannon Hibs. Richard Benn (2), Aidan O’Brien and Mark Whelan scored for the winners; Jamie Egan (2) and Ray Fahy replied while Kennedy Park picked up a big win over Charleville with goals from Stephen McNamara (3), Thomas McInerney (3) and Noel Whyte.
Nenagh B lead the way in Division 2B following their 2-1 win over Croom Utd thanks to scores from Danny Butler, Michael Duff and Francis Munsterburg.
Marcus Cregan scored twice as Glenview beat Ballylanders while Newport beat Abbey Rvs with scores from Kieran McCarthy, Martin Turner, Jamie Collins and Calem Harte.
Goals from John McManus (4), Keith Storan and Alex Porter helped Mungret to success over Northside for whom Tom Williams and Frank Daly netted and Star Rvs fell to their first defeat at home to Moyross B. Chris Meehan and Anthony McInerney scored for the winners.
In Division 3A a hat trick from Christian Aguado and one from Mark Carmody HELPED Aisling to a win over Prospect while Pallagreen edged out Castle Utd by the odd goal. Joe O’Keeffe and Andrew Hartigan scored for the winners; Colin Hanley replied.
Knockainey B beat with goals from John O’Connell and Dave Roche and Meanus kept up their good start with a 3-2 win over Kilfinane. Brendan Hogan (2)and Dean Byrne netted for the winners.
Jeff Foley (4), Jason Griffin, Jamie O’Dea and Martin Harty scored as St Pats overran Dromore Celtic B while Croom Utd B beat Parkville 3-2. Barry Roche, Gary McInerney and Ryan O’Shea; Mike Worthy and Shane O’Brien replied.
Dave Hartnett, Christian Kerley and the prolific Tommy Sheehan scored in Athlunkard Villa B’s win over Holycross while Joe O’Callaghan, Mark Barry, Daithi Stewart and Thomas Lewinski were on the mark as St Pauls beat Hyde Rgs B 4-3.
Hill Celtic B look the team to beat in Div 4 as they accounted for Caherdavin Cel B with scores from Damien Carmello (4), James Harty and Jamie Faul.
Dan O’Sullivan scored the only goal for Newport who won at Moyross Utd C and Nenagh beat Shelbourne B thanks to scores from two rare goals from Darren Aherne along with scores from Paddy McInerney, John Doyle and Jason McInerney
Holycross and Southend are runaway leaders in Division 1B and both won again on Saturday to open up a seven point gap on their nearest rivals.
Holycross beat Aisling Ann B 3-0 with scores from Dean Coughlan (2) and Niall O’Riordan.
Barry Gibbons (3), James Lyons (2) and Dean Hogan scored for Southend in a 6-3 win over Cappamore for whom Eric Conroy (2) and Colin Ryan netted.
Geraldines B and Hill Celtic played out a scoreless draw and it also finished level between St Pats and Corbally Utd B, Dave McPhillips scoring for the latter.
Thomas Mulqueen scored the only goal when Prospect beat Regional Utd B.
In Division 2A leaders Caledonians suffered their first defeat going down to a Garret Higgins goal against old rivals Hyde Rangers.
A superb comeback by Shelbourne saw them overturn a three goal deficit to win 4-3 thanks to scores from Ciaran Cummins, Jack O’Donovan, Rob Whyte and Brian O’Donnell.
Thomas McInerney scored four as Kennedy Park beat Lisnagry and Athlunkard Villa kept pace with the leaders beating Shannon Hibs 2-1 with scores from Donal O’Keeffe and Philip Clancy.
Goals from the three amigos Gordon McKevitt, Killian Collins and Ger Myles secured a win for Coonagh over Summerville while Charleville and Granville Rgs B played out a 3-3 draw. Peter Sandor (2) and Martin Strahr scored for the Cork side while Colin O’Gorman and Ollie Kenny (2) replied.
In Division 2b goals from Mike Quigley, Kieran McCarthy, Thomas Carroll, Kieran Casey and Dermot Ryan gave Newport the spoils against Aisling while Moyross B and Croom Utd played out a 2-2 draw. Alan Quinlivan and Pat Roche scored for the Homesters; Shane Mulready and Eoin Burchill replied for Croom.
Glenview Rvs beat Abbey with goals from Barry Butler (2) and Cathal O’Neill while Alan Sheahan (2), Paul Kelly, Derek McKenna, John Butler, Oisin Fitzpatrick and Arthur Mitchell were on target for Nenagh B in a 7-3 win over Ballylanders.
Division 3A Leaders Meanus fell 3-2 to Pallas for whom Owen Roche (2) and Kevin Barry obliged.
Dean Byrne and Mike Punch scored for the leaders.
Aisling Annacotty (Niall O’Shea (2) and Jason Daly) and Kilfinane (Pat McGrath (2) and James O’Doherty) ended 3-3, the same result as Knockainey B v Prospect Priory. Lar Smalle, Jason Murphy and Alan O’Connell scored for the home side. Danny Colbert (2) and Mike Lynch scored for Prospect.
Goals from Gillian Piveteau (2), Mike McNamara, Eoin Hartnett, Kieran O’Connell, David Rainsford, Aidan Ryan and Rob Ryan saw Murroe B ease past Coonagh Utd B.
In Division 3B Parkville put six past Hyde Rgs B through Mike Worthy (2), Stepehen McDermott (2), Derek Moloney and Tom Kennedy and Croom beat St Pats with scores from Barry Roche, Kevin Kinsella, Gary McInerney and Aaron Cregan.
Eight man St Pauls earned a great point with Holycross B in a 4-4 draw. Graham Canty, David Keogh, Mike O’Neill and 55 year old Mike Reddington scored for Saints with Jason Hayes, Niall Brosnan (2) and James O’Regan netting for ‘Cross.
In Division Four League leaders Hill Celtic B beat Mungret Reg C 3-1. Denis Glitenane scored for the home side but a double from Jordon Bowen and one from former Irish International player Anthony Tobin gave Celtic the points.
Nenagh beat Newport with scores from Martin Donnellan (2), Bruce Hayes, Paddy McInerney and Peter O’Reilly while Moyross had a narrow win over Caherdavin thanks to goals from Jeffery O’Halloran and John Paul O’Leary


August 16th

Division 1B promises to be a tight affair this season and it kicked off on Saturday evening with a local derby in Southill when Hill Celtic and Southend played out an exciting 2-2 draw. Dean Casey and Lee Reddan netted for Celtic with goals from Aaron Grant and Barry Gibbons earning Southend a point.
Holycross continue on their impressive form beating Geraldines 4-1 in their opener.
Goals from Simon Delaney (2), Niall O’Riordan and Pappy Kelly ensured victory. Trevor Hogan netted for the ‘Dines.

Castle Utd seems to be the graveyard for aging Premier managers but they will not be complaining as Geraldines boss Aidan Ryan and Aisling Manager Ray McMahon were on target in a 2-1 win over Coonagh Utd B for whom Kieran Simmonds scored.
